The Mighty Baker Wedding Cake Tastings

The Mighty Baker Wedding Cake Tastings

Wedding season is on its way! I have been doing a lot of wedding cake tastings lately. Thought I would give you a look at how I do my wedding cake tastings. I have the soon to be Bride & Groom pick out 4 cake flavors and 4 filling flavors for the cake tasting. Then we get together and design their wedding cake as they eat and choose what flavors they would like. Please visit www.mightybaker.com or email pete@mightybaker.com with any questions or to schedule your wedding cake tasting.

Africa Cake

My parents just recently left on a mission to Mozambique, Africa for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shortly before they left we threw a big family farewell party for them. The cake was a surprise and we did an African sunset with a giraffe and an elephant under a tree. The cake turned out awesome and everybody enjoyed it thoroughly!

The top half was White Cake with Strawberry Italian Buttercream and the bottom half was Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Italian Buttercream.

The bride wanted to surprise the groom with a cake designed like his work place. He works at Polished Image, a car detailing business in the Salt Lake City area. He loved it!

The car is made of chocolate cereal treats and the building is White Cake with Spiced Cookie Butter and Strawberry Filling.

The top tier fo the mint green rose cake was Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate Ganache and Raspberry Preserves and the bottom tier was White Cake with Spiced Cookie Butter and Strawberry Filling. They both turned out great and were enjoyed!

Springville Art City Days 2013, Top Tier Cake Decorating Competition

This years theme was "Celebrate Downtown". I competed in the advanced division this year and had so much fun! I started planning for this months ago and was so excited to see my ideas come to life. You can see that I decided to do a mini cityscape of downtown Springville, Utah. The building in the center is their Civic Center and their yearly city celebration takes place around the building. I decided to incorporate a lot of the events that take place during this celebration week.

The little hot dogs were my favorite! And the car was the most fun to make! It is made of cereal treats and covered and decorated in fondant and the details were hand painted with silver food coloring.

I got second place! I got a fancy award plaque and a cool prize!

Eagle Scout Recognition Cake

My father has been involved with The Boys Scouts of America for many years.  Some men that have worked with him over the years contacted me to make this cake as a thank you for my dad. It turned out great and he loved it and was surprised.

Club Penguin DJ3K Birthday Cake

It was my nephews birthday and was asked to do his cake. He asked for a cake that had Penguins, DJ's and Hooded Sweatshirts.  After talking to his mom I found out about a website that he liked called Club Penguin. After checking it out I decided on a design for the cake.

The table that the turntables are on is made of
delicious chocolate cake with Vanilla Italian Buttercream icing.

Details painted on with food coloring.

Penguin is made of chocolate cereal treats and is covered in white chocolate and painted with food coloring. The sunglasses and the headphones are made of fondant.

The turntables are made of fondant.
